Homemade beef jerky recipes are a great nutritional snack. They are low in cholesterol and high in protein. Beef jerky is a wonderful energy food while biking, skiing, or times when you feel like nibbling something.

Over the recent years, jerky (commonly made out of beef) has turned out to be a highly preferred snack for many Americans. It is a great resource for proteins, since producers remove all the fat and moisture from the beef jerky before supplying it to you.

However, most store bought jerky has added chemical preservatives, which can eliminate some nutritional benefits contained in the jerky. Hence, it is better to reduce usage of chemical preservatives in beef jerky and you can do this by making beef jerky homemade.

Homemade Beef Jerky Recipe:

Ingredients:

1.	Four pounds of flank steak
2.	Two teaspoons of black pepper
3.	Two teaspoons of chili powder
4.	Two teaspoons of cayenne pepper (add more if you prefer spicy food)
5.	Two teaspoons of garlic powder
6.	Two teaspoons of onion powder
7.	One teaspoon of liquid smoke
8.	Half cup of low sodium Soya Sauce
9.	Half cup of Worcestershire
10.	Half cup of Frank’s red-hot sauce

Directions to Prepare:

1.	Trim all fat from meat.
2.	Cut the meat into four-inch pieces.
3.	The meat needs to be half inch thick.
4.	Cut the partly frozen meat.
5.	Pound meat gently and do not make it very thin.
6.	Add all above-mentioned ingredients in a big bowl and mix them well.
7.	Cover and store at a low temperature overnight (nearly eight hours).
8.	Line the cookie sheets with a tin foil.
9.	Keep meat pieces on these cookie sheets and do not overlap meat.
10.	Set the microwave oven at low temperature, preferably 150-175°F.
11.	Bake for six hours, turning meat pieces for every three hours.
12.	It is ready to serve when it dries out.

With our homemade beef jerky recipes you will be on your way to making low cost and healthy beef jerky in no time. Enjoy!

The teriyaki beef jerky recipe is popular for many reasons. It tastes great and is nutritious as it contains lots of protein, low carbohydrates and is low in calories. Moreover, you need not necessarily store the recipe in the refrigerator, so it is an ideal choice especially when you are traveling. You can easily prepare this recipe at home and here are few quick steps so you can make a great teriyaki beef jerky recipe at home.

It requires the following ingredients:

One-pound broiled beef
One tablespoon of brown sugar
¼ teaspoon of peeper (coarse black)
One teaspoon of onion powder (avoid onion salt)
½ teaspoon of garlic powder (avoid garlic salt)
One tablespoon of corn syrup
One teaspoon of salt
½-cup orange juice without pulp
One teaspoon of soy sauce
One teaspoon of liquid smoke
¼-cup water
2/3 cup of teriyaki marinade (Kikkoman)

Instructions to prepare the beef jerky:

Slice the beef into 1/8 – 1/4 -inch strips. Place all dry ingredients in a glass bowl (avoid metal utensils). Next, add the liquid ingredients and salt in the glass bowl and blend it thoroughly. Put the pieces of beef in the bowl and apply the mixture to it. Cover the bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for about 24-36 hours.

Remove the bowl from refrigerator. Pat the beef pieces with a towel to remove any extra moisture. Next, place the beef pieces on the racks of your dehydrator for around 4 to 8 hours. Turn the racks after every one hour. To test it, fold the beef jerky piece into half. When you fold, it needs to bend and not crack. It must also not show any sign of reddishness.

Remove the beef pieces, allow them to cool and then store them in an airtight container. To make over one pound of teriyaki beef jerky, double the amount of ingredients so that the sauce is enough to cover the beef pieces.

Use this method to make delicious teriyaki beef jerky recipe at home.

Ingredients:

Meat:

1. One pound ground beef
2. One teaspoon salt
3. One teaspoon liquid smoke
4. One teaspoon garlic powder
5. One egg white
6. One tablespoon A-1 sauce
7. One fourth teaspoon black pepper
8. Half of a cup of Quick Quaker oats

Sauce:

1. Two tablespoons A-1 sauce
2. Three tablespoons ketchup
3. One teaspoon soy sauce
4. Two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
5. Two tablespoons water
6. Two tablespoons vegetable oil
7. One teaspoon liquid smoke

Directions for Making Ground Beef Jerky:

1.	Mix the ingredients with ground beef and stir until thoroughly mixed. With the help of a chopping knife, chop for one minute until finely mixed and having a uniformity of putty.

2.	In the next step of making ground beef jerky, take a ball of the meat mixture on a floured cutting board and lightly coat both sides with flour. Roll out with a floured rolling pin until about 8” by 11” rectangle 1/7” or less thick. Then cut into 8” long and 1” wide strips using a pizza cutter and transfer the same carefully to a wire rack.

3.	Heat your oven to 300 degrees. Place the wire rack in the center of the oven with a second rack one notch below. Place a cookie sheet under meat, which acts as a drip pan on the lower rack. Bake for one hour.

4.	Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a shallow dish. After removing the rack of meat, roll every strip in the sauce mix and place them back on rack. Bake for 15 minutes to 450 degrees. Recoat strips after removing from the rack again and bake for another 15 minutes. Final step for making this beef jerky involves coating one last time and then cooling to room temperature.

There you have it, a simple and easy to make ground beef jerky recipe.

Dehydrated beef jerky recipe is easy to make and you will really be astonished with the outcome. Use different flavors and make sure you purchase enough beef to prepare decent sized jerky pieces since meat shrinks after it dehydrates.

For this beef jerky recipe, you will need:

Food dehydrator

Three lbs of flank steak or beef brisket

2/3 cup of Worcestershire sauce

2/3 cup of teriyaki sauce

One teaspoon of fresh black pepper (grounded)

One teaspoon of liquid smoke

One teaspoon of garlic powder

One teaspoon of onion powder

Two to three teaspoon of Tabasco sauce

Two to three teaspoon of red pepper (crushed)
Sharp knife

Glass plate or plastic bag

Procedure:

To prepare dehydrated beef jerky, you need to buy fresh beef and not one that is stored in the refrigerator for a long time. Next, take a glass plate or plastic bag. Mix all ingredients in the plate. You can also add any other flavor such as vinegar and spice according to your liking.

Slice the beef and make it into 1/8” thick pieces. Place these pieces in a dish and apply the mixture over these pieces. Cover the dish, refrigerate and allow the ingredients to marinate all night.

The following day, take out the plate, remove the beef pieces from the mixture and dry it well using a paper towel. Place these pieces on the dehydrator racks and dehydrate them at low intensity for about six hours.

Remove the beef jerky pieces, let them cool and store in an airtight container. You can have this anytime as snacks. Beef Jerky that is dehydrated is a healthy alternative to other forms of snacks such as fries and fast food. It contains lots of proteins, is low in calories and remains fresh for longer time.

Tips:

A dehydrated jerky recipe that you make needs to be dry and not brittle. In addition, beef jerky need not be damp, otherwise mildew starts growing over it. Follow the instructions and make dehydrated beef jerky recipe at home with ease.
